To burn, to be burnt, to be kindled; met. to get into a passion, to be enraged, to rage. جل اٿهنا jal uṭhnā, To break out (as, fire). جل بجهنا jal bujhnā, To brand, to burn to ashes. جل پکنا jal paknā, To be in a passion, to rage. جلي پرنون لگانا jale par non lagānā (lit. to throw salt on one who is burned) To triumph over, to insult.

جلندر jalandar S̱. (जलोदर) s. m. The dropsy.

جله julah P s. m. 1. A weaver, of the Mu- hammadan religion. 2. (met.) A fool, a blockhead. جلاه ڐاڙهي julāh-ḍāṛhī, s. f. A short round beard, such as julāhs usually wear. S̱.H. جل بل jal-bal (from جلنا and بلنا) part. Burnt up or consumed with fire. See جلابلا.
