Muttering of prayers, repeating inaudibly passages from the scriptures, charms or names of a deity, counting silently the beads of a rosary, &c. جپ تپ jap tap (जप and तपः) s. m. Devotion, adoration. جپمال يا مالا jap-māl or -mālā (जपमाला) s. f. A rosary.
