آب باران āb-i-bārān P s. Rain-water, rain.

آب جاري āb-i-jārī P s. Running water; a stream, a rivulet, a current, tears flowing.

آب دار āb-dār P (آب q. v. and دار Having) s. m. The person entrusted with the charge of water for drinking: any thing full of water or splendour, as fruits, jewels, pearls, swords. adj. Polished, clear, of a good water (as gems), well tempered (as steel), sharp (as a sword).

آب داري āb-dār-ī P s. f. The having water; the brilliancy (of gems), temper or polish (of steel), sharpness (of a sword).

آب گذار āb-guẕār P s. m. A water-passer, an expeditious messenger, a courier, a passage of a river, a ford.

آبشار āb-shār P s. m. f. A waterfall, cascade, cataract.

آبکار āb-kār P s. m. A water-carrier, a sprinkler,

آبکاري āb-kār-ī P s. f. The business of a water- carrier, &c., the business of a distiller, distillation, a duty levied on distilleries.

آبیاري āb-yārī P s. f. Irrigation, watering.

آتش بار ātash-bār P adj. Flaming, fiery, raining fire. s. A firelock, a tinder-box.

آتش خوار ātash-ḵẖẉār P (Fire eater) s. m. Name of a bird, a variety of Tetrao rufus, Lin: called in Hindī چکور chakor, q. v.

آتش پاره ātash-pāra P s. m. A spark, a lighted coal; a beautiful person; an exciter of quarrels; quarrelsome.

آدتوار आदित्यवार āditya-vār S s. m. Sun- day. See آدت āditya.

آدهار ādhār S̱. (आहार Food, or for आधार Support) s. m. Food, aliment, victuals, nourishment, support.

آدهار आधार आ and r. धृ Hold ā-dhār S. s. m. A patron, supporter, one on whom de- pendance is placed for assistance.
