ابوي abwī A (from ابو) adj. Paternal.

اروي arwī H s. f. A species of Arum, the root of which is used in food. (Arum colocasia: called, also, گهویان ghoyān, and in Bengal کچو kachū).

بدوي badawī A adj. Of the country or desert; an Arab of the desert, a countryman.

بسوي biswī S̱. (from विश्व) adj. Worldly, re- lating to the world.

بيضاوي baiẓāwī A s. f. The name of a book containing a commentary on the ḳurʼān.

بيضوي baiẓawī A (from بيضه) adj. Fashioned in the shape of an egg. خط بيضوي ḵẖat̤t̤-i-baiẓawī, s. m. A form of the Persian Nastaﻌlīḳ charac- ter, in which the curved tails of the letters are segments of an oval: opposed to خط آفتابي ḵẖat̤t̤-i-āftābī, in which they are portions of a circle.

تجويز tajwīz A (inf. ii. of جوز Heb. Passed, removed) s. f. 1. Approbation, permission. 2. Inquiring into, examining, investigation, considering. 3. Contrivance, sentence, judgment, determination, trial, scheme, plan. تجويز کرنا tajwīz karnā, To examine, investigate, inquire into, to contrive, to plan, to sentence or pass sentence, to prescribe, appoint. تجويزهونا tajwīz honā, To be examined, contrived, &c.

تجويف tajwīf A (inf. ii. of جوف) s. f. Hollowing, making concave.

تحويل taḥwīl A (inf. ii. of حول) s. f. 1. Change, transfer, renovation, return. 2. Passing of the Sun, Moon, or a planet from one sign to ano- ther. 3. Trusts, charges, cash; (in) the charge. (Plur. تحويلات taḥwīlāt). A.P. تحويلدار taḥwīl-dār, s. m. A cash-keeper, a treasurer. A.P. تحويلداري taḥwīl-dār-ī, s. f. The office of cash-keeper.

تخويف taḵẖwīf A (inf. ii. of خوف) s. f. 1. Ter- rifying. 2. Threatening, threat.

تداوي tadāwī A (inf. vi. of دوا) s. f. Administering medicine, cure, healing.

تزوير tazwīr A (inf. ii. of زور) s. f. Imposture, fraud, deceit, stratagem, deception, lie.

تساوي tasāwī A (inf. vi. of سوي Heb. Was equal) s. f. Similarity, sameness, equality, neu- trality.

تسويد taswīd A (inf. ii. of سواد) s. f. 1. Making black. 2. The draught of a letter, &c., a rough copy, a sketch, a plan, delineation.
