طوطي t̤ūt̤ī P (from Pers. توتي) s. f. A parrot, a paroquet. طوطي کي سي هونٿهـ مل ڐالنا t̤ūt̤ī ke se honṭh mal ḍālnā (lit.) To rub or twist oneʼs parrot-like lips, is used by way of an affectionate or friendly admonition; thus: بولا نکراي يار تو هر يک سي بگڙکر مل ڐاليگا طوطي سي کوٴي هونٿهـ پکڙکر Bolā na kar ai yār tū har yak se bigaṛkar; mal ḍālegā t̤ūt̤ī se koʼī honṭh pakaṛkar, Do not, my love, indulge in the habit of speaking an- grily to every one; lest some one should twist those lips of thine which emulate the parrotʼs in redness.
