سپارش sipārish P or supārish (from سپردن) s. f. A recommendation, intercession.

سپاره sipāra P (contract. of سي Thirty, and پاره A piece) s. m. One of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections into which the ḳurʼān is divided. See سيپاره.

سپاري sipār-ī P in compos. s. f. Resigning, com- mitting (to another).

سپاس sipās P s. f. Praise, thankgiving.

سپاه sipāh P s. f. (used in the plur.) Soldiers, an army. سپاه پهرجاني sipāh phir jānī (implies) a revolt or treachery in an army. سپاه سالار si- pāh-sālār, A general, a commander of an army. سپاه گري sipāh-gar-ī, s. f. The military profes- sion, soldiership, tacticks.

سپاهي sipāh-ī P s. m. A soldier.

سپاٴي sipāʼī P. (prop. سه پايه) A tripod, trevet, a three-legged stool, table, &c.

سپر sipar P s. f. A shield, target. سپرانداز sipar-andāz, adj. Throwing away the shield, surrendering. سپرداري sipar-dār-ī, s. f. Pro- tecting, shielding.

سپري siparī P in compos. s. f. for سپري sipār-ī, q. v.

سپـہر sipahr P s. m. The sphere, the celestial globe, the sky, fortune, time, the world. ¶ si- pahar (comp. of سه Three, and پـہر A watch) s. m. Afternoon.
