آبسال ābsāl P s. m. A vineyard, a garden.

آرسي ārsī H s. f. A mirror (particularly, a mirror on the thumb). H.S̱. ارسیلي نینا arsīle nainā, adj. Having weak eyes, with eyes as if just awake.

آسا āsā S (आशा) s. f. Hope, desire, trust, reliance. (Affixed to other words آس signifies inclination, and آسا possessed of inclination; as پیاس piyās, Thirst, and پیاسا piyāsā, Thirsty, from پي pī, Drink).

آسایش āsāʼịsh P (from آسودن) s. f. Rest, ease, tranquillity, repose, quiet.

آسیس āsīs S̱. or asīs (आशिस् from आ and r. शास Rule) s. f. Blessing, benediction, return of compliment from a Hindū superiour.

آسین आसीन āsīn S adj. Sitting, seated. S̱. اسینچا (अ and r. षिच Sprinkle) a-sīnchā, adj. Not watered, not irrigated (a field, &c.).

آمنا سامنا āmnā sāmnā S̱. (see سامنا) s. m. Con- fronting.

آمني سامني āmne sāmne S̱. (from آمنا سامنا q. v.) adv. Opposite, face to face, over against.

آنٿ سانٿ ānṭ-sānṭ S̱. s. f. Partnership; in- trigue.

ابتسام ibtisām A (inf. viii. of بسم) s. m. A smiling, smile, gaiety, hilarity.
