ارس پرس ars-pars S̱. (स्पर्श Touch) s. m. 1. Par- tial bathing (throwing a very little water on the head with oneʼs hand instead of bathing), sprink- ling or aspersion. 2. Act of touching.

اسپرسي asparsī S̱. (r. स्पृश Touch, or अ and r. स्पृश; if the ا is prefixed merely because the

پرسن प्रसन्न parsan S or prasanna, adj. 1. Re- joiced, pleased. 2. Gracious, kind. پرسن هونا prasanna honā, To acquiesce. پرسن کرنا pra- sanna karnā, To be pleased with, to like.

پرسوت parsūt S̱. or prasūt (प्रसूति see پرسو) s. m. The whites, fluor albus.

پرسورام parsūrām परशुराम S̱. n. prop. The sixth Avatār, descent upon earth or incarna- tion of Vish̤ṇu. This personage was the son of Jamadagni. He is, from his father, called Jāmadagni: and, the deity descended in this form to destroy the Kshatriyas (or Chh̤atrīs) who were become tyrannical. Renukā, wife of Jamadagni, was interrupted in bringing water from the river by Kārtavīrjārjuna, a prince of the Kshatriyas, who was sporting in the water with his thousand wives; for which Parasu- rāmaʼs father, Jamadagni, cursed him. The Kshatriya prince killed Jamadagni; and Jāma- dagni vowed not to leave a Kshatriya on the face of the earth. He is reported to have ex- tirpated them twenty one times; the women with child each time producing a new race: and, they say that there have been no Ksha- triyas since; those so called being of spurious breed, or Varṇasankars.

پرسون parsoṅ परश्वस् S̱. adv. 1. The day be- fore yesterday. 2. The day after to-morrow.

پرسيا parsiyā H s. m. A reapinghook, a sickle.

پرسياوشان parsiyāwushān P s. m. Name of the herb maiden hair. (Pteris lunulata).

پرشاد parshād प्रसाद S̱. s. m. See پرساد. S̱. پرشارتهـ पुरुषार्थ purushārath or purush̤ārth, s. m. Manliness, boldness, generousness.
