اعراب iﻌrāb A (inf. iv. of عرب) s. m. The no- tation of the vowel points, the vowel or diacri- tical points.

اعراض iﻌrāẓ A (inf. iv. of عرض) s. m. Aversion, avoiding, dislike, averseness. اعراض کرنا iﻌrāẓ karnā, To avoid, turn from, decline.

شاعر shāʼiﻌr A (part. act. of شعر Heb. and Ch. To divide, discriminate, know, understand) s. m. A poet. (Pers. plur. شاعران shāʼiﻌrān).

شاعري shāʼiﻌr-ī A s. f. The art or practice of poetry, poetry.

شعر shiﻌr A s. m. Poetry, verse. شعرخواني shiﻌr-ḵẖẉānī, s. f. Reading or studying poetry.

شعري shiﻌr-ī A. adj. Poetick, poetical.

عراق iﻌrāḳ A n. prop. A territory which is divided into two portions; عراق عرب iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌrab, The ancient Babylonia or Chaldea; and عراق عجم iﻌrāḳ-i-aﻌjam, comprehending Media. عراقان or عراقين The two cities of Basra and Kūfa.

عراقي iﻌrāḳ-ī A 1. adj. Produced in or belonging to iﻌrāḳ (especially applied to a breed of horses from that country). 2. s. m. A Par- thian.

عرفان iﻌrfān A s. m. Knowledge, discernment, science.

مشعر mushʼiﻌr A part. act. (IV. of شعر) Signifying, denoting, indicating, bearing the marks of. ¶ mashʼaﻌr or mishʼaﻌr, s. A sense (i. e. one of the five senses).

معراج miﻌrāj A (noun of instrument of عرج Heb. ) s. m. f. 1. A ladder, stair, any thing by which one ascends. 2. Ascent, ascension.
