اختصاص iḵẖtiṣāṣ A (inf. viii. of خصّ) s. m. Ap- propriation, peculiarity.

اعتصام iﻌtiṣām A (inf. viii. of عصمت) s. m. Abstaining from sin or what is unlawful.

اقتصار iḳtiṣār A (inf. viii. of قصر) s. m. 1. Ab- breviation, abridgment, restriction. 2. Deter- mining or fixing the bounds of any thing. 3. Failing, wasting.

انحصار inḥiṣār A (inf. vii. of حصر) s. m. Sur- rounding, encircling; restriction, limitation.

انصاف ittiṣāf A (inf. viii. of وصف) s. m. De- scription, qualification, praise, excellence.

انفصال infiṣāl A (inf. vii. of فصل) s. m. Sepa- ration, division: settling, decision (of a cause). انفصال کرنا infiṣāl karnā, To decide, to settle.

حصار ḥiṣār A (from حصر) s. m. An enclosure, a fence, besieging, a fortification, fort, fortress, bulwark, fortified place.

خصال ḵẖiṣāl A s. plur. (of خصلت) Qualities, virtues.

قصاص ḳiṣāṣ A (improp. ḳaṣāṣ from قصّ ḳaṣṣa Heb. To cut off) s. m. The law of retalia- tion. (This word is used in contradistinction to ديت diyat).

نصاب niṣāb A (from نصب Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. 1. A root, origin, principle. 2. Dignity, fortune. 3. Capital, principal, property. 4. A certain estate or number of cattle for which a tax is paid. نصاب الصبيان niṣābu-ṣ-ṣibyān (lit. the capital stock of children) The title of an Arabic Vocabulary with Persian translation in rhyme.

وصال wiṣāl A (from وصل) s. m. 1. Meeting, in- terview, connexion. 2. Death. 3. Society, confederacy. 4. Fruition, enjoyment.
