بالا bālā P prep. Above, up, aloft. adj. High. s. m. Top, stature. بالابالا bālā bālā, adv. De- ceitfully, fraudulently: secretly. بالابتانا bālā batānā, or بالادينا bālā denā, To balk, to cir- cumvent, to dupe, to put off, to disappoint, to prevaricate. بالادست bālā-dast, adj. Upper- handed, victorious, superiour, more or most pre- cious.

بالاخانه bālā-ḵẖāna P s. m. An upper room, an upper story, a balcony.

بالانشين bālā-nishīn P part. Occupying the chief seat; a president.

بالاوپست bālā o past P Above and below, i. e. the heavens above and the earth beneath.

بالاپوش bālā-posh P s. m. A coverlet, a quilt.

بالي bālī S̱. s. f. 1. (बालिका) A female child. 2. (बाली) An earring worn in the ear passing through the centre of it.

باليدن bālīdan P inf. or verb. noun, To grow, growing.

باليده bālīda P part. pass. (of باليدن To grow up) Grown, vegetated, increased. باليده هونا bālīda honā, To vegetate, to be grown up.

باليدگي bālīda-gī P (from باليده) s. f. Vegetation, growth, increase.

بالين bālīn P s. f. A pillow.
