صليٰ ṣallạ̄ A 3d pers. mas. sing. of past tense, He blessed or was merciful towards. صليٰ الله عليه ṣallạ-l-lāh aﻌlaihi, The blessing of God on him! صليٰ الله عليهم ṣallạ-l-lāh aﻌlaihim, The blessing of God be on them!
