باقي bāḳī A part. act. (from بقا) Remaining, per- manent, lasting, extant, eternal; (used substan- tively) remnant, remainder, balance, arrear. باقي دار bāḳī-dār, Owing a balance. باقي رهنا bāḳī rahnā, To remain, to be left, to be saved.

بقيه baḳīya A s. m. Remainder, balance.

تاقي tāḳī T. 1. adj. m. and f. Defective (horse), having the eyes of two different colours. 2. s. f. A kind of hat.

تحقير taḥḳīr A (inf. ii. of حقارت) s. f. Despising, scorn, neglect, disdain.

تحقيق taḥḳīḳ A (inf. ii. of حقّ) 1. s. f. Ascer- taining, ascertainment, investigation, trial, verifi- cation, exactness, precision. 2. Truth, certain- ty. 3. adj. Authentick, ascertained, actual, real, indubitable, apparent. 4. adv. Truly, in- deed. ترقي taraḳḳī A (inf. v. of رقي) s. f. 1. Promo- tion, preferment, advancement, elevation. 2. Increase, improvement. 3. Making progress in learning, proficiency. (Plur. ترقيات Prefer- ments, advances).

ترقيق tarḳīḳ A (inf. ii. of رقّت) s. f. Softening, thinning, dilution, rarefaction.

ترقيم tarḳīm A (inf. ii. of رقم) s. f. Writing, noting. A. P. ترک turk, s. m. 1. A soldier. 2. A Musal- mān (properly, a Turk, which in Persian takes many other meanings. Sans. तुरष्क). ترک چشم turk-chashm, A murdering or captivating eye. ترک سوار turk-sawār, s. m. A horseman, a cavalier. ترک مزاج turk-mizāj, adj. Wicked, sly; depraved. (Plur. ترکان turkān).

تعقير taﻌḳīr A (inf. ii. of عقر) s. Wounding much.

تلاقي talāḳī A (inf. vi. of لقي or لفو) s. f. Meeting, interview, reunion.

تلقين talḳīn A (inf. ii. of لقن) s. f. Instructing, instruction, informing, religious instruction; prayer over the dead at the time of interment. تلقين کرنا talḳīn karnā, To instruct, to in- form, to teach. تلقين هونا talḳīn honā, To be instructed.

تنقيح tanḳīḥ A (inf. ii. of نقح) s. f. 1. Cleaning, polishing. 2. Deciding disputes, investigation, search, ascertaining.
