اتحاد ittiḥād A (inf. viii. of وحد Heb. Was one) s. m. Union, amity, concord, friendship.

احادیث aḥādīs̤ A s. f. (plur. of حدیث) Tradi- tions, (particularly) the traditions or sayings of Muhammad.

احاطه iḥāt̤a A (inf. iv. of حوط) s. f. A surrounding, an enclosure, a fence (but generally ap- plied to a space enclosed or surrounded), com- prehension, compass, circuit, besieging. احاطه کرنا iḥāt̤a karnā, To surround, enclose, fence, be- siege, blockade, invest, to comprehend.

ارتحال irtiḥāl A (inf. viii. of رحل) s. m. Act of marching or travelling; departure, death.

ارحام arḥām A s. plur. (of رحم) 1. Wombs, matrices. 2. Relations by the motherʼs side, uterine kindred.

ازدحام izdiḥām A (inf. viii. of زحم) s. m. A concourse, a crowd, a throng, a rushing together of people.

استحاله istiḥāla A (inf. x. of حول) s. m. Ac- counting or being impossible or absurd: changing of state.

اسحاق isʼḥāḳ A n. prop. (Heb. ) Isaac.

اصحاب aṣʼḥāb A s. plur. (of صاحب) Lords, mas- ters, grandees, companions, friends, apostles. (In composition the word signifies) Possessed of; as اصحاب علم aṣʼḥāb-i-iﻌlm, Learned men, &c.

الحاح ilḥāḥ A (inf. iv. of لحّ) s. f. Solicitation, urgency, importunity, importunate entreaty.

الحاد ilḥād A (inf. iv. of لحد) s. Irreligion, im- piety, heresy, unbelief, apostasy, atheism.

الحاق ilḥāḳ A (inf. iv. of لحق) s. m. Annexation, junction, addition, adjunction, continuity.

الحال al-ḥāl A adv. Now, at present, presently, just now.

الحان ilḥān A (inf. iv. of لحن) s. m. Note, sound, modulation, tune, an air (in musick). ¶ alḥān, s. plur. (of لحن) Notes, tunes.

امتحان imtiḥān A (inf. viii. of محن) s. m. Proof, trial, examination, experiment, temptation. امتحان کرنا imtiḥān karnā, To prove, experience, try, tempt.
