آدرا ādrā आर्द्रा S̱. s. f. 1. The name of the sixth lunar mansion (probably a Orionis). 2. The beginning of the rainy season.

آرا आरा ārā S s. m. 1. A saw, a shoemakerʼs knife or awl. 2. The name of a district.

آرام आराम आ and r. रम Sport ā-rām S. s. m. A pleasure-garden, grove.

آرتا ārtā आरात्रिक S̱. s. m. A ceremony attending marriage. When the bridegroom first comes to the house of the bride, he is received by her relations, who present to him, and move circularly round his head, a platter painted and divided into several compartments; in the middle of which is a lamp made of flour, filled with ghī and having several wicks lighted.

ارتي ārtī आरात्रिक S̱. s. f. A ceremony performed, in adoration of the gods, by moving circularly, round the head of the image, a plat- ter containing a burning lamp with several wicks.

امرا amrā आम्रात S̱. s. m. The hog plum. (Spondias mangifera).

امراوتي अमरावती amarāwatī S s. f. The ce- lestial city of Indra.

ان راگ अनुराग anu-rāg S s. m. Affection, love, passion.

ان راگي अनुरागी anu-rāg-ī S part. act. Making friendship, loving, caressing.

انترا अन्तरा antarā S adv. In the middle, among: near at hand: without, except.

انتراتپ अन्तरातप अन्तरा q. v. and r. तप Burn antarā-tap S. s. f. A tertian ague.
