سنکلپ संकल्प sankalp S s. m. A solemn vow or declaration of purpose. سنکلپ کرنا sankalp karnā, See سنکلپنا sankalpnā.

سکل सकल sakal S adj. All, the whole, every.

شاکل shākal शाकल्य S̱. s. f. A mixture of se- samum seed, barley, ghī, coarse sugar, fruits, &c. used in oblations to the gods.

پتهرکلا patthar-kalā प्रस्तरकला S̱. s. A fire- lock.

کلا कला kalā S s. f. 1. A digit or sixteenth part of the moonʼs diameter. 2. A division of time, about eight seconds. 3. Part, portion. 4. Art, trick. کلا بازي kalā-bāz-ī, s. f. Turning over head and heels, tumbling, juggling. کلا نه بد نا kalā na badnā, v. a. To disobey, to de- cline, not to succeed. کلا نه لگنا kalā na lagnā, Not to have an advantage, not to avail.

کلاٴي kalāʼī कलाय S̱. s. f. Pulse, leguminous seeds in general.

کلس कलश kalas S s. m. 1. The spire or orna- ment on the top of a dome, a pinnacle. 2. A water-pot. کلس ستهاپن کرنا kalas sthāpan karnā, To make an offering of a jar of water to any deity: five twigs of the following sacred trees are previously placed in it, namely, the Aswat- tha (Ficus religiosa), Vaṭa (Ficus indica), Udumbar (Ficus glomerata), Samī (Mimosa albida), and Āmra or mango.

کلسا kalsā कलश S̱. s. m. A pinnacle. See کلس kalas.

کلمي kalmī कलम्बी S̱. s. f. Convolvulus re- pens, used as an esculent vegetable.

کلنک कलंक kalank S s. m. Calumny, accusa- tion, reflection, suspicion, scandal, spot, mark, blemish, brand, stigma, obloquy, defamation, aspersion.

کلنکي कलंकी kalank-ī S 1. adj. Liable to reproach, blemished. 2. Corrupt. of کلکي kalkī, q. v.

کله कलह kalah S s. m. Quarrel. کله کار kalah- kār, Quarrelsome (a man). کله کارني कलह कारिणी kalah-kāriṇī, A quarrelsome woman.

کلول kalol कल्लोल S̱. s. f. Wantonness, friskiness, play, sport, frolick, gambol.

کليان कल्याण kalyāṇ S 1. s. m. Welfare, hap- piness, prosperity. 2. Name of a Rāg sung at night. 3. adj. Happy, well, right.

کلپ कल्प kalpa S s. m. 1. A Shāstra or sa- cred work. 2. A day or a night of Brahmā, a period of 4,320,000,000 years of mortals, mea- suring the duration of the world, and as many the interval of its annihilation. 3. A destruction of the world. 4. Optionality, doubt. 5. Re- solve, purpose. 6. Propriety, fitness. کلپ برچهہ कल्पवृक्ष kalpa-brichh or -vr̤iksh̤a, or کلپتر कल्पतरु kalpa-taru, A tree in Indraʼs heaven that yields whatever may be desired.
