اسکنده स्कंध iskandh S or skandh, s. m. A chap- ter, a division of a book.

بهوکمپ भूकंप भू Earth, and r. कप Trem- ble bhūkamp S. s. m. An earthquake.

سکنده स्कंध skandh S s. m. 1. A branch. 2. A part or division. 3. A shoulder. 4. A mul- titude, part of an army.

ليل کنٿه līl-kanṭh नीलकंठ S̱. s. m. Name of a bird. (Coracias Bengalensis).

نيلکنٿهہ नीलकंठ nīl-kanṭh S s. m. 1. Name of a bird. (Coracias bengalensis). 2. A name of Mahādeva. (He is called by this name because his throat was stained blue by swallowing the poison produced by over-churning the ocean, with the mountain Mandara, by the Surs and Asurs, to procure the amr̤ita). 3. A peacock. 4. Name of a plant. (Hyperanthera mo- runga).

کانٿها kānṭhā कंठ S̱. adj. Near, proximate.

کنج कंज kanj S s. m. A lotus.

کنس कंस kans S or kansa, n. prop. The uncle and enemy of Kṛish̤ṇa by whom he was slain. See under کشن kishan.

کنٿهابهرن कंठाभरण kanṭh-ābharaṇ S The orna- ments of the neck. S. کنٿهاگر कंठाग्र (i. e. कंठ Larynx, and अग्र Front) kanṭhāgr, adj. By rote, by memory.

کنٿهي kanṭh-ī कंठीय S̱. s. f. A short neck- lace.

کنٿهہ कंठ kanṭh S 1. s. m. Windpipe, or the lump on the windpipe, the throat, the larynx, Adamʼs apple; the bosom. 2. Voice. 3. adj. By heart, committed to memory. کنٿهاروندهن kanṭhārūndhan (कंठारोधन) Strangulation.

کنٿک कंटक kanṭak S s. m. 1. A thorn. 2. A bad man. 3. A mean enemy. S. کنٿکاري कंटकारी kanṭakārī, s. f. A sort of prickly nightshade. (Solanum jacquini). See کٿايا kutāyā.

کنچلي kinchlī कंचुक S̱. s. f. The slough (of a snake, &c.).

کنچو kanchu कंचुक S̱. s. m. Bodice, jacket.
