آدها ādhā अर्द्ध S̱. adj. Half. In compos. it becomes آده ādh or اده adh or ادها adhā or اد ad; as, آده جلا ādh-jalā, Half-burnt; ادهموا adh- mūā or ادموا ad-mūā, Half-dead.

اتهہ अर्थ arth S s. m. 1. Meaning, signification, acceptation. 2. Intention, design, motive. 3. Cause, sake. 4. Property, wealth, substance. تپسیارتهہ तपस्यार्थ tapasyārth, For devotionʼs sake, for devotional purposes.

ادشکر adh-kar अर्द्धकर S̱. s. m. Half the tax or duty of any kind (the other half being remit- ted).

اده پکا adh-pakkā अर्द्धपक्व S̱. adj. Half-ripe.

ادهمرن adh-maran अर्द्धमरण S̱. adj. Half- dead.

ارب arb अर्बुद S̱. adj. One hundred millions. ارب کهرب arb kharb, Innumerable.

اربهک अर्भक arbhak S s. m. A child.

ارتهات अर्थात् arthāt S s. m. 5th case sing. That is to say, viz.

ارتهي अर्थी arth-ī S adj. Self-interested, de- signing.

ارجن अर्जुन arjun S s. m. 1. Name of a ce- lebrated hero, the third son of Pāṇḍu and friend of Kr̤ish̤ṇa. 2. Name of a tree. (Terminalia alata glabra).

ارجنا arjanā अर्जन S̱. v. a. To gain, to ac- quire.

اردهانگ अर्द्धांग अर्द्ध Half, and अंग Body ardhāng S. s. m. Half the body; palsy affecting one side or the upper or lower part of the body, hemiplegia. اردهانگ دهرنا ardhāng dharnā, To assume a body half male and half female.

اردهانگي अर्द्धांगी ardhāng-ī S 1. adj. One afflicted with hemiplegia. 2. s. f. A wife.

ارنو अर्णव arṇav S s. m. Ocean.

ارپن अर्पण arpaṇ S s. m. An offering.
