آکاس आकाश ākās S (or akās), s. m. The fifth element, ether; the sky, the atmosphere, the heavens, the firmament, space. (This element is held by the Hindūs to be more subtle than air, to fill and pervade the universe, and to be the peculiar vehicle of life and sound). آکاس باني ākās-bānī (आकाश The sky, and वाणी Sound) s. f. A voice from heaven; revelation, an oracle.
