چاها چـﮩ‍ي chāhā-chahī S̱. (from چاهنا chahnā, q. v.) s. f. The love of oneʼs country.

چـﮩبچه chah-bachcha P (چه for چاه A well, and بچه A child) s. m. A vat, a cistern.

چـﮩره chihra P s. m. 1. Face, visage, countenance, air. 2. Description-roll. چـﮩره لکهنا chihra likh- nā, To write a description-roll (soldierʼs). چـﮩره لکهانا chihra likhānā, 1. To enlist. 2. To take service and horses.

چـﮩره جنا chahra junnā H v. a. (dakh.) To slan- der, calumniate, asperse.

چـﮩل chihal P or chihil, adj. Forty. چـﮩل ته chihal-tah, s. f. Coat of mail. چـﮩل ستون chi- hal-satūn, or چـﮩل منار chihal-manār, n. prop. Name of Persepolis. چـﮩل قدمي chihal-ḳadmī, s. f. 1. Walk, ramble. 2. A custom, at the funerals of Musalmāns, of stepping back forty paces from the grave and again advancing to it before reading the service over.

چـﮩل chuhal H s. f. 1. Mention. 2. Cheer, jol- lity, mirth, merriment, festivity. چـﮩل کرنا chu- hal karnā, To carol, to make merry, &c.

چـﮩلـﮩ‍‍ا chihlahā H (from چـﮩ‍لا chihlā) adj. Splashy, muddy, slimy.

چـﮩلم chihlum P adj. Fortieth, the fortieth day (of mourning, &c.).

چـﮩلنا chahalnā H v. n. To be fatigued, to tire.

چـﮩلي chuhlī H adj. Comick.

چـﮩن chahuṅ S̱. adj. Four. See چـﮩون chahūṅ.

چـﮩن चिन्ह chihna S s. m. See چـنـﮩـ chinh.

چـﮩنا chahnā S̱. (or chhanā, dakh.) v. a. See چاهنا chāhnā.

چـﮩون chahūṅ चतुर् S̱. adj. Four. چـﮩون اور chahūṅ-or, adv. On all sides. چـﮩون چکريا دس chahūṅ-chakr or -dis (चतुश्चक्र or चतुर्दिशा) Circumjacent, all around. ¶ chhoṅ (plur. of چهـ) The six.

چـﮩچـﮩيا chahchahiyā H s. m. A whistler. S̱.H. چهدام chha-dām, s. (In money) six dām, or the fourth part of a paisā.
