آلاپنا ālāpnā S̱. or alāpnā (आलापन see آلاپ ālāp) v. a. To tune the voice, to run over the different notes previous to singing, to catch the proper key, to sing, to time.

ارپنا arapnā S̱. (from ارپن) v. a. To present an offering.

اسپند ispand P s. m. A seed burnt at marriages to drive away evil spirits: it is, also, burnt as a charm for the like purpose some days after a child is born, particularly at the door; and when a child goes out or comes home. It is often mixed on those occasions with mustard seed, and hence has been confounded with the latter (خردل).

البیلپنا albel-panā H s. m. Foppishness, spruceness, airs and blandishments.

الوپنا alopnā S̱. (आलोपन or from الوپ) v. a. To conceal, to hide oneʼs self, to lie hid.

اپنا apnā S̱. m. اپني apnī, f. (see آپ āp) pron. poss. Of or belonging to self, own. (In Braj, āpnau, āpne, āpnī). اپني گاونا apnī-gāonā, To sing oneʼs own praises, to egotize.

اپنانا apnā-nā S̱. (see آپ āp) v. a. To make a thing oneʼs own, to convert or appropriate to oneʼs own use.

اپنایت apnā-yat S̱. (see آپ āp) s. f. Family, re- lations, kindred, kin.

اپنتهي a-panth-ī S̱. adj. One who has lost his way, devious; heretical.

اپنتهہ a-panth S̱. (अ and पंथाः A road) s. m. A wrong or bad road, a devious track; heresy.

اپنشد उपनिषद् upanish̤ad S s. The theolo- gical part and the vedānta or argumentative part of the Vedas, either detached from, or comprised in, the principal work.

اگهورپنتهي aghor-panth-ī अघोरपथी S̱. adj. (used substantively) An order of religious men- dicants professing اگهورپنتهہ aghor-panth; (they eat every thing, however filthy, even human carcasses; hence) a gross or filthy feeder.

اگهورپنتهہ aghor-panth अघोरपथ S̱. s. m. A particular religious order among Hindūs. See اگهورپنتهي.

بياپنا byāpnā व्यापन S̱. v. a. To pervade, oc- cupy, effect, operate, to work, to act, affect.

بپنس bapans S̱. (वप्र A field, and अंश Part) s. m. Patrimony, heritage.
