لي پالک le-pālak S̱. s. m. An adopted child, adopted, a fosterchild.

پالک pālak S̱. s. m. 1. (पालंक) A kind of greens (a species of spinach). 2. (पल्यंक) A bedstead. 3. (पालक) Cherisher, protector, keeper. پالک پتر pālak putr (पालकपुत्र) An adopted son.

پالک جوهي pālak-jūhī H s. f. Name of a medi- cinal tree. (Justicia nasuta, also Ixora undulata. Roxb.).

پالکري pā-lakrī H s. f. Blocks of wood placed un- der the feet of a bed to raise it. (It is the cus- tom to have two such blocks ready to raise the head of a bed, to give it a sloping position).

پالکي pālkī H s. f. A litter, a sedan. پالکي سوار pālkī-sawār, One who rides in a pālkī. پالکي نشين pālkī-nishīn, Entitled to be carried in a pālkī. (Formerly, this privilege was granted by a King or Viceroy).
