اطفا it̤fā A (inf. iv. of طفا Ch. Was extin- guished) s. m. Extinction (of fire).

اطفال at̤fāl A s. plur. (of طفل) Children.

تلطف talat̤t̤uf A (inf. v. of لطف) s. m. Kindness, obligingness, blandishment, favour. تلطف کرنا talat̤t̤uf karnā, To shew kindness or favour, to oblige.

طفوليت t̤ufūliyat A s. f. Infancy, childhood.

طفيل t̤ufail A s. m. f. A parasite, a glutton, one who uninvited accompanies one of the guests to a feast; (used adverbially) By the means, through, for the sake. A. P. طفيلي t̤ufail-ī, adj. Parasitical.

عاطفت āﻌtifat A (from عطف Heb. To in- cline, to cover) s. f. Kindness, benevolence, af- fection.

عطف aﻌt̤f A s. m. Favour, affection, kindness, a present, bounty. حرف عطف ḥarf-i-aﻌt̤f, A co- pulative conjunction.

لطف lut̤f A s. m. Courtesy, grace, kindness, benignity, favour, elegance, gentleness, graciousness, delicacy, pleasantness, pleasure, gratifica- tion, pleasantry, wit; the beauty or best (of a thing).

لطفي lut̤f-ī A. adj. Adopted (child, or child) brought up in the family.

مصطفيٰٰ muṣt̤afạ̄ A (part. pass. VIII. of صفو Heb. ) adj. 1. Chosen, selected. 2. (subst.) One of the titles of Muḥammad.

ملاطفه mulāt̤afa A (inf. III. of لطف) s. m. 1. Courtesy, kindness, politeness, favour. 2. A letter or epistle.

منطفي munt̤afī A (part. act. VII. of طفأ Chald. and Syr. ) adj. Extinguished.
