آسمان āsmān P (comp. of آس ās, A millstone, and مانند Like) s. m. The sky, the firmament, heaven, the celestial orb. آسمان پر قدم رکهنا āsmān par ḳadam rakhnā, To give oneʼs self airs, to aspire, to be vain. آسمان پر کهینچنا

آسماني āsmān-ī P adj. Heavenly, celestial, from heaven, sky-coloured, cerulean, azure. آسماني تیروغیره āsmānī tīr wa g̠ẖairah, An arrow, &c. shot in the air. S. اسمرت स्मृति (r. समृ Remember) ismirti or smr̤iti, s. f. The Hindū law.

جسماني jism-ānī A (from جسم) adj. Belonging to body, corporeal, material, carnal.

جسمانيت jism-āniyat A (from جسم) s. f. Materiality.

ريسمان resmān P s. f. String, cord, thread, rope. (Sans. रश्मि).

سماق sumāḳ A (prop. summāḳ) s. m. 1. Sumach (Rhus coriaria). 2. Porphyry, the hardest species of marble.

سمالو samālū सिन्धु S̱. s. m. The name of a plant: also, called Meʼoṛī. (Vitex trifolia and negundo).

سمان samāṅ S̱. s. m. Time, season, state, condi- tion, &c. See s̱. سما samā.

سمان समान samān S adj. Equal, adequate, similar, alike, akin. s. f. Equality, level, rank; as, توميري سمان کا نـہين tū merī samān kā nahīṅ, Thou art not my equal.

سمانا samānā संमान S̱. To be contained in, to go into. See امانا amānā.

سمانتا समानता samān-tā S or samānatā, s. f. Likeness, resemblance, equality.

سماو samāʼo S̱. (from سمانا) s. m. Room, space.

سماوي samāwī A (from a. سما samā) adj. Hea- venly, celestial.

سمايا samāyā S̱. s. m. (dakh.) State: see s̱. سما samā.

سماٴي samāʼī S̱. s. f. 1. (for शाम्य) Endurance, patience. 2. (from سمانا) Capability.
