اسبق asbaḳ A adj. compar. (from سبق He out- stripped) More or most surpassing or excellent; past times, days of yore.

تسبيح tasbīḥ A (inf. ii. of سبح Heb. He praised) s. f. 1. The act of praising God. 2. A rosary, a chaplet of beads (not applied to a Hindū rosary). تسبيح خانه tasbīḥ-ḵẖāna, A chapel. تسبيح خوان tasbīḥ-ḵẖẉān, 1. Saying prayers. 2. A person hired to pray for ano- ther, a private chaplain. تسبيح خواني tasbīḥ- ḵẖẉān-ī, The office of a chaplain.

سبق sabaḳ A (from سبق Chald. To precede, to leave behind) s. m. A lesson, lecture, reading.

سبقت sabḳat A (from سبق) s. f. Getting before, outstripping, surpassing, preceding, excellence, aggression. سبقت کرنا sabḳat karnā, To get before, to outstrip or precede, to surpass, to advance.

سبل sabal A s. m. 1. A disorder of the eyes, a cataract or the being bloodshot or bleareyed. 2. An ear of corn. 3. Rain (especially, whilst falling from the clouds).

سبل subul A s. plur. (of سبيل) Ways, manners.

سبل सबल sa-bal S adj. Powerful, forcible.

سبلأي sabal-āʼī S̱. (from s. سبل) s. f. Power, force, strength.

سبن sabni S̱. or saban, adj. plur. obj. case (in Braj) All. See سب sab.

سبها सभा sabhā S s. f. An assembly, meeting, company.

سبهاسبهہ शुभाशुभ subhāsubh S compound adj. Good and bad, lucky and unlucky.

سبهاسد सभासद् sabhā-sad S s. One of a com- pany or an assistant at an assembly. S. سبهاو (सु Good, or स्व Own, and भाव Na- tural state of being, disposition, nature) su- bhāw, s. m. Good disposition, nature, natural state, property, disposition. adj. Well-dis- posed, of good quality. See سوبهاو.

سبهاپت सभापति sabhā-pati S s. m. Chief or president of an assembly.

سبهتا subhitā S̱. (शुभ Luck, happy, and हित Suitable) s. m. Opportu- nity, convenience, accommodation, time, leisure.

سبهون sabhoṅ S̱. adj. plur. inflect. of سب sab, All, q. v.
