جهاڙ jhāṛ H s. m. 1. Bushes, brambles, bush, shrub, brake, underwood. 2. A kind of fire- work. 3. A lustre or chandelier, the same as پنج شاخه panj-shāḵẖa, q. v. under پنجه. 4. A purge. 5. Continued rain, &c. see جهڙي jhaṛī. جهاڙباندهنا jhāṛ bāndhnā, To rain without ceasing. جهاڙ پـﮩ‍اڙ jhāṛ pahāṛ, Digression. جهاڙپهونک jhāṛ phūnk, s. f. Juggling, conjuring, hocus pocus (particularly, to cure the bite of a snake or a disease). جهاڙجهٿک jhāṛ jhaṭak, s. f. Sweeping. جهاڙجهنکهار jhāṛ jhankhār, s. m. Brambles, large dry bushes. جهاڙجهوڙ jhāṛ jhūṛ, s. f. 1. Sweepings; perquisites. 2. Thick- et. جهاڙکهنڐ jhāṛ-khanḍ, 1. adj. Bushy. 2. s. m. A forest, the forest of Baijnāth.

جهاڙا jhāṛā H s. m. A stool, a purge. جهاڙاجهپٿي جانا jhāṛā jhapṭe jānā, To go to the ne- cessary. جهاڙاجهپٿا لينا jhāṛā jhapṭā lenā, To search. جهاڙاپهرنا jhāṛā phirnā, or جهاڙاجهٿکاپهرنا jhāṛā jhaṭkā phirnā, To walk among the bushes (which means) to go to the necessary. جهاڙادينا jhāṛā denā, To submit to search. دوکان جهاڙا dūkān-jhāṛā, s. m. Sweepings of a (druggistʼs) shop, compound medicine.

جهاڙن jhāṛan H (from جهاڙنا) s. f. 1. Sweepings. 2. A coarse cloth for wiping furniture, &c.

جهاڙنا jhāṛnā H v.a. To sweep, brush, shift, clean, strain, knock off, dash, strike, flap, strike fire (as, with a flint), to beat (bushes, &c.). جهاڙپچهورکرديکهنا jhāṛ pachhor kar dekhnā (dakh.) To try, to prove, to examine. جهاڙنا پهونکنا jhāṛnā phūnknā, To exorcise, to repeat spells or charms. جهاڙڐالنا jhāṛ ḍālnā, v. a. To sweep out or away. جهاڙدينا jhāṛ denā, v. a. To brush, to clear away.

جهاڙنت jhāṛant H adv. Entirely.

جهاڙو jhāṛū H s. m. f. A besom, broom, a comet. جهاڙوکش يا بردار jhāṛū-kash or -bardār, s. m. 1. A sweeper. 2. The cast of حلال خور ḥalāl- ḵẖor, q. v.

جهاڙي jhāṛī H s. f. Forest, wood, underwood, brushwood, copse, bush, brake, shrub.

جهاگ jhāg H s. m. Foam, froth (of the ocean), scum.
