اتاول utāwal H s. f. Quickness, speed, despatch.

اتاولا utāʼolā H adj. m. Swift, quick, speedy, pre- cipitate, rash.

اتاولي utāʼolī H adj. f. Swift, &c.; s. f. Haste, speed, rashness, impatience.

اتراون uttarāwan S̱. s. m. A place to which fish throng.

اساول isāwal T s. m. A poursuivant. S. آساونت आशावन्तः (from आशा Hope) āsā- want, adj. Expectant, dependant. S̱. اساونت (अ and ساونت Brave) a-sāwant, adj. Fearful, unquiet, pitiful.

اوقات auḳāt A s. f. (plur. of وقت) Times, hours, circumstances. اوقات بسري auḳāt-basarī, s. f. Pastime, amusement, employment, livelihood. اوقات بسري کرنا auḳāt basarī karnā, To pass (oneʼs time).

اول ol S s. m. 1. (ओल r. वल Destroy, i. e. complaints) Name of a vegetable the root of which is eaten. (Arum campanulatum). 2. A hostage. ¶ आवलि āvali, s. f. Row. See اولي avalī.

اولا aulā A adj. Better, best: see اوليٰٰ aulạ̄. ¶ awwalaṉ, adv. At first, in the first place.

اولا olā S̱. (ओल adj. Wet) s. m. 1. Hail. 2. The name of a kind of sweetmeat. اولاهوجانا olā hojānā, To become cold. جون سرمنڐاياتون اولي پڙي joṅ sir munḍāyā toṅ ole paṛe, I had no sooner shaved my head than a shower of hail came on. (Spoken of one who has just en- gaged in an enterprise which turns out unfortu- nate).

اولاد aulād A s. f. (plur. of ولد) Children, offspring, descendants, issue, progeny.

اولتي oltī H s. f. The eaves of a roof.
