استبداد istibdād A (inf. x. of بدّ) s. m. Absolute dominion, despotism, insisting upon a thingʼs being done.

استبرا istibrā A (inf. x. of برأ) s. m. 1. Cleansing, washing oneʼs hands of a business or desiring to be freed from it. 2. The waiting of a woman after being divorced from her husband, to as certain whether she is pregnant or not, before she can contract another marriage. (The term is three months, according to the Muhammadan law).

استبرق istabraḳ A s. m. Silk cloth or satin, the colour of which seems to change agreeably to the light it is seen in (particularly, green silk).
